TAPING INSTRUCTIONS - IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY!
1. SLATE
In a medium close-up shot (head & shoulders framing), and in less than 30 seconds, please state the following:
o Name
o Height
o Availability for dates: May 20 - June 21. If you have any/several known conflicts during the shoot window, please let us know.
o Tell us something fun about you.
2. SCENE
Please choose a character from the list below and record all scenes for that character in a medium shot with a simple background.
Character Descriptions :
EMMA (21) - An energetic young woman, just recently engaged. Down to earth and extremely caring to those close to her. Very musically talented. Back in town to get married when she bumps into an old friend from her youth. Old memories resurface.
MOTHER (51) - Quietly suffering with grief for her son, she drinks and smokes excessively to avoid her guilt. She's stuck in the past and stuck in her house. She sees the pain she has caused her daughter and wants to be better.
CHARLES (13) - Adventurous and daring. He adores his younger sister Goody. At age 14, he dies in a car crash.
FATHER MIKE (72) - An intense, strict man. His career as a priest comes to a halt when he ends up in the hospital after having a stroke.
MRS. WILSON (56) - Town's gossip. Pious woman who is involved with church activities.
MATTHEW (24) - Party guy. Taunting and mean. He's in denial of his wrongs. Emma‘s cousin and Liam‘s brother.
LIAM (24) - Party guy and a sweet flirt. Emma's cousin and Matthew's brother.
SCOTT (22) - Engaged to Emma. Small-town guy. Musically talented. Likes to party, but is soft-spoken and kind.
AVA (22) - Tough girl with an attitude. Liam’s girlfriend.
SOPHIA (35) - Wise and bright. Was once James' fiancée, but has accepted that their relationship will never work.
NURSE #1/NURSE #2 - Caring and a focused worker.
CAREGIVER - Caring. Takes care of Father Mike.
3. SONG
If you are auditioning for EMMA or SCOTT, please share a short clip of you singing a cover of “Hurt” in the style of Johnny Cash or “Hallelujah” in the style of Jeff Buckley. Feel free to use an instrument if you like.
There will be a lot of music in this movie. If you are auditioning for another character and are a musician – Please record yourself playing one of the songs mentioned above OR a song of your choice.
