What is Get on Set?                  

​Each year Local Cinema Studios partners with the South Carolina Film commission and the University of South Carolina to produce a feature length film or pilot in South Carolina. Our team brings a collective 50+ years of experience in film, a $100K+ budget, and connections throughout the film industry. We’re hoping that you bring a captivating, new feature or pilot script that we can help bring to life.

We focus on producing professional level projects while pairing industry professionals in key roles with students as Production Assistants for a collaborative community.

Past projects have included coming of age stories, dramas, and comedies. 


Submission Requirements             

When submissions are open, they must include the following:


  • Feature film or pilot script in industry standard format as PDF

  • Logline: a brief description of your film (max 50 words)

  • Look Book/Treatment as a PDF document: show us the overall vision for executing the story, locations, casting, cinematography, production design, etc. Exact format is at your discretion. This will be the first visual representation of your script so use it as an opportunity to help the evaluators understand what your film will look and feel like (Get more information on Look Books here, including samples.)

  • Preliminary production strategy Include information on the following: Likely shooting area(s) in South Carolina and why; estimated number of shoot days; if you have key collaborators in mind for positions such as Producer, and Production Manager/Line Producer, DP, Production Designer, and AD (list specific personnel with credits); and any other info you think is relevant. (max 600 words).

  • Names, contact info, and links to previous work samples for Writer, Director (or Writer/Director), and other key collaborators

  • Brief bio for each of these team members, as applicable (max 250 words)

  • Description of how you and your team are connected to South Carolina filmmaking. If there is no direct connection, talk about how you would include the South Carolina community. (max 500 words)
