Goody Crew Applications

The Story

Goody follows twenty-year-old Gudelia Pedat, known to her friends and family as Goody. Brought up Catholic by her overbearing mother, Goody now unknowingly suffers from severe OCD, which manifests itself through an irrational adherence to religious rituals. After losing her faith and years after the death of her much loved, older brother Charles, she still heavily blames herself despite her lack of involvement. The film follows Goody as she carries the weight of this guilt while navigating a relationship with the new priest in town and reconnects with her past through her childhood friend, Emma. Find more information about the project in our blog post.

  • Local Cinema Studios Covid Protocol and Precautions During the production of “The Grand Strand” we are following guidelines and protocols recommended by the CDC.

As of May 2023, the CDC marked the end of the federal COVID-19 PHE declaration. Local Cinema Studios is advising for the duration of this production that all crew members are welcome to observe any health and safety precautions that fit their personal needs and comfort.

While filming, masks are optional at all locations. Covid testing will also not be required during our production.

However, if you are feeling sick or have symptoms of any kind during the duration of our filming, please let your department head know immediately.

We advise that any crew member that is sick should not report to set or be in close proximity to other crew members or actors.

We encourage everyone during our production to practice good hygiene, stay hydrated, get a lot of sleep, and take care of yourself to avoid getting sick. Please note, that all protocols and guidelines are subject to change at any time during our production if necessary and crew will be notified if so.

On Set Safety and Guidelines Filming takes place over long hours. People get tired and we want to ensure everyone remains safe. We will have a safety meeting each morning. Practice common sense and follow our guidelines below:

    • Stay hydrated! Set will be HOT and hydration will help you stay healthy and happy.

    • Be aware of your surroundings. We know, it sounds like common sense. But there is a lot happening on a film set (and a lot of it is fun to watch!) and it can be distracting. At the same time, there are a lot of points, vehicles, and hazards. Be alert and make smart decisions.

    • Do not touch any gear or equipment unless instructed to do so. If you need to touch or move an item outside out your department, talk to a crew member in that department first.

    • Close-toed shoes are required at all times on set.

    • Please wear comfortable but appropriate clothing to work each day. We understand it is the summer and a beach setting however, this is still a work environment and we need to maintain our professionalism.

    • If you feel unsafe at any moment or see any safety hazards on set, report them to a team leader or the 1st AD immediately.

During orientation we will go over lots of details including safety, setiquette, and set terminology. We will aim to not go over a 12-hour workday and have the weekends off. We absolutely will have one 24-hour period off each week. Please keep in mind the schedule can change on a dime depending on weather, actor’s schedules, location availability, etc.
